Dear Schoenstatt Family,
The members of the General Presidium send you heartfelt greetings from Schönstatt on the feast of Pentecost. Here, at the place of grace and of our origin, we implore for you all over the world the gifts of the Holy Spirit on the occasion of his feast.
In 2018, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of our father and founder, Father Josef Kentenich. After consulting the representatives of the movement worldwide, we invite you to a Father-Kentenich-Year starting on September 15, 2017 and ending on the 50th anniversary of his passing away on the 15th of September 2018.
Let us focus on our father and founder for one year: on his thinking and message, on his interesting and varied biography, and on the answers he has given to the challenges of the Church and the world and still wants to give through us today. This year gives us the opportunity to deepen our relationship with Father Kentenich, so that his charism can be reawakened in us. Let us invite many people to meet Father Joseph Kentenich for the first time or to rediscover him as a prophet of our time!
Pope Saint John Paul II. drew our attention to our responsibility: "You are called to participate in the grace that your Founder has received, and to offer it to the whole Church. For the charism of the founders proves to be an experience worked by the Spirit and handed over to their disciples to live accordingly, to guard, to deepen and to develop it constantly, and to do so in community, and for the good of the Church. " (September 20, 1985)
50 years after Father Kentenich returned to the Father’s house, we are called as ”post-founder” generation to keep his "founding spirit" alive and up-to-date, to place ourselves anew on the foundation he laid, and from there to answer to the present challenges, to be "co-founders" with him. Father Kentenich’s fruitfulness should become visible in us and in our service to the Church and world, in a “Schoenstatt on the move”.
We invite all members and friends of our movement worldwide to celebrate this Father Kentenich Year at the shrines in their countries and individually. We encourage you to come together on September 15, 2017, and to open the Father Kentenich Year in a spirit of solidarity with our worldwide movement and with our father and founder, in a way that is appropriate for you.
On Saturday, September 15, 2018, in the various shrines and cathedrals in our countries, we as Schoenstatt Family want to say to Father Kentenich: Yes, here we are, we go with you! And we want to promise the Church to collaborate in her mission in the spirit of our father and founder.

Liebe Schönstattfamilie,
die Mitglieder des Generalpräsidiums senden Ihnen herzliche Pfingstgrüße aus Schönstatt. Hier am Ursprungs- und Gnadenort erbitten wir allen Schönstättern weltweit reiche Geistesgaben am Fest des Heiligen Geistes.
2018 begehen wir den 50. Jahrestag des Heimganges unseres Vaters und Gründers Pater Josef Kentenich. Nach Rücksprache mit Vertretern der weltweiten Bewegung laden wir zu einem Kentenich-Jahr ein, das am 15. September 2017 beginnt und am 50. Todestag, dem 15. September 2018, seinen Abschluss findet.
Lassen Sie uns unseren Vater und Gründer ein Jahr lang in den Mittelpunkt stellen: sein Denken, seine interessante und vielfältige Biographie und die Antworten, die er auf die Herausforderungen von Kirche und Welt gegeben hat und heute noch durch uns geben will. Das Jahr gibt uns die Gelegenheit, unsere Beziehung zu unserem Vater und Gründer zu vertiefen, damit sein Charisma neu in uns lebendig werden kann. Laden wir viele Menschen ein, Pater Josef Kentenich erstmalig oder neu kennenzulernen als Propheten unserer Zeit!
Der heilige Papst Johannes Paul II. hat uns auf unsere Verantwortung aufmerksam gemacht: „Ihr seid berufen, an der Gnade, die euer Gründer erhalten hat, teilzuhaben und sie der ganzen Kirche anzubieten. Denn das Charisma der Gründer erweist sich als eine geistgewirkte Erfahrung, die den eigenen Schülern überliefert wurde, damit sie danach leben, sie hüten, vertiefen und ständig weiterentwickeln, und zwar in der Gemeinschaft und zum Wohl der Kirche“. (20. 9. 1985)
50 Jahre nach dem Heimgang unseres Gründers sind wir als Nachgründergeneration aufgerufen, seinen „Gründergeist“ wach und aktuell zu halten, uns von neuem auf das Fundament zu stellen, das er gelegt hat, und von dort aus Antworten auf die gegenwärtigen Herausforderungen zu geben, mit ihm „Mitgründer“ zu sein. An uns und unserem Dienst in Kirche und Welt, an einem „Schönstatt im Aufbruch“ soll sich die Fruchtbarkeit Pater Kentenichs zeigen. Das ist unser Zeugnis für seine Heiligkeit.
Wir laden alle Mitglieder und Freunde unserer Bewegung weltweit ein, dieses Kentenich-Jahr an den Heiligtümern ihrer Länder und je individuell zu begehen. Wir regen an, bereits am 15. September 2017 zusammenzukommen und in geistiger Verbundenheit mit unserer weltweiten Bewegung und mit unserem Vater und Gründer das Kentenich-Jahr in einer Weise zu eröffnen, wie es vor Ort passend ist.
Am Samstag, dem 15. September 2018, wollen wir als Schönstattfamilie in den verschiedenen Heiligtümern und Kathedralen unserer Länder Pater Kentenich sagen: Ja, hier sind wir, wir gehen mit! Und der Kirche wollen wir versprechen, aus dem Geist unseres Vaters und Gründers an der Sendung der Kirche mitzuwirken.

Querida Familia de Schoenstatt,
La Presidencia Internacional les envía un cordial saludo desde Schoenstatt en este día de Pentecostés. En nuestro lugar de gracias y de origen imploramos para todos ustedes los dones del Espíritu en la fiesta del Espíritu Santo.
El próximo año celebramos los 50 años de la partida de nuestro Padre Fundador José Kentenich. Después de consultar a los representantes del movimiento de Schoenstatt en los distintos países, les proponemos un “Año del Padre Kentenich”, que empieza el 15 de septiembre de 2017 y culmina en el 50 aniversario de la Pascua del Padre el 15 de Septiembre de 2018.
A lo largo de este año pongamos a nuestro Fundador en el centro, su pensamiento y su mensaje, su biografía tan rica y fascinante, las respuestas que dio a los desafíos de la Iglesia y del mundo y que hoy quiere dar aún a través de nosotros. Este año nos da la oportunidad de profundizar el vínculo con nuestro Padre Fundador, para que su carisma reviva nuevamente en nosotros. Invitemos a muchas personas a conocer o a redescubrir al Padre José Kentenich como profeta de nuestro tiempo!
El santo Papa Juan Pablo II nos recordaba nuestra responsabilidad: “Ustedes están llamados a participar de la gracia que su fundador recibió y a ofrecerla a toda la Iglesia. Pues el carisma de los fundadores es una experiencia suscitada por el Espíritu, que es transmitida a sus discípulos, para que estos la vivan, la custodien, la profundicen y la desarrollen constantemente, en la comunión de la Iglesia y para bien de la Iglesia” (20.09.1985). 50 años después de su partida estamos llamados, como generación post-fundadora, a mantener vivo y actual su “espíritu fundacional”, y desde el fundamento que él mismo colocó a dar respuesta a los desafíos del presente, a ser “cofundadores” con él. Precisamente en nosotros y en nuestro servicio a la Iglesia y al mundo, en un “Schoenstatt en salida” ha de mostrarse la fecundidad del Padre Kentenich. Ese ha de ser nuestro testimonio de su santidad.
Invitamos a todos los miembros y amigos del movimiento de Schoenstatt a celebrar este Año del Padre Kentenich en los Santuarios de sus países e individualmente. Les sugerimos que se reúnan el 15 de septiembre de este año, 2017, y que unidos espiritualmente a toda la Familia de Schoenstatt en el mundo entero y a nuestro Padre y Fundador den apertura al Año del Padre Kentenich de la forma que sea más adecuada a cada lugar.
El sábado 15 de septiembre de 2018, como Familia de Schoenstatt, queremos decirle al Padre Kentenich en los diversos Santuarios y Catedrales donde celebremos: “Sí, aquí estamos! Vamos contigo!”. Y prometemos a la Iglesia colaborar con ella en su misión en el espíritu del Padre Kentenich.
